In the early years children used to press up against the shop window, which was packed with sweets. A dream for children of that age, which was unattainable for most of them, because of the rationing and food shortages of the post-war years.
After sixty years the Moreno family find it almost impossible to calculate how many tonnes of sugar have passed through this sweet-lover's paradise. The shop is decorated with sweets inside and out, a sweet sight for all the customers.
The owners have extended the business, selling sugar-free sweets and sweets for diabetics, as well as gluten-free sweets for celiacs. It also sells sweets to publicise companies and public or private institutions. Caramelos Paco also has a virtual shop, which makes no charge for delivery. The company has another shop at number 53 in Calle Toledo, specialising in parties and fancy dress.
