A piece of Galicia in the heart of Tetuán, run and founded by Julio Bouza Mouriño, a genuine Galician. This traditional establishment’s no-frills image may make it go unnoticed, but forget about the appearance. The menu is packed with laudable dishes and seafood, and very elaborate recipes.
They serve some of the best oysters, crabs, clams, large crab and spider crabs that are brought to Madrid every day. Plus prawns and crayfish served boiled or grilled as preferred by the diners. In keeping with Galician traditions, the dishes served at Naveira do Mar are uncomplicated. Galician style cod loins, monkfish chunks or turbot dice, boiled with potatoes (cachelos) and intense oil and garlic sauce. Another star product is the delicately grilled sole. Lunch can start with simpler options, like empanada (tuna pastry), platters of fried Padrón peppers, Octopus in paprika (pulpo a feira) or grilled razor-shells (navajas). Not to mention the delicious offer of magnificent Galician meat. Lamb chops, T-bone steak and grilled filet steak dices, from the Betanzos abattoir. Desserts include filloas (crêpes), Santiago cake and baked apple.
