Gran Café El Espejo

This beautiful art nouveau style restaurant on Paseo de Recoletos, very close to Plaza de Colón, is reminiscent of early twentieth-century literary cafés. Renovated in 2023, it is a classic, historic meeting place for artists, intellectuals and entrepreneurs, with a restaurant at street level and an outdoor terrace on the Paseo de Recoletos boulevard.

The historic restaurant has a solid wooden bar dating from 1924, restored by the prestigious interior designer Tomás Alia. The venue can accommodate 250 people for a standing reception, 110 seated, and it has 16 speakers and 4 subwoofers, spectacular lighting with warm LEDs and Vintage lighting.

The outdoor terrace, located on the Paseo de Recoletos boulevard, with its own separate entrance for private events, has a heating system and can be closed off to protect customers from the cold and rain. It can accommodate 500 people for a standing event and 250 seated. It has Bang & Olufsen sound equipment and warm LED lighting.

Its renewed menu is based on market ingredients, showcasing light dishes, unfussy but premium quality food, including breakfasts, snacks, vegetables, meat and fish, sharing platters, cocktails and mixed drinks. Its delicious desserts are prepared by Paco Torreblanca, named the Best Pastry Chef in the World 2022.
