This centenary tavern, established by the Alfaro family at the beginning of the 20th century and now run by Ángel Rodríguez, one of its regular clients, is an institution in Lavapiés in relation to its tapas. Thanks to the current owner’s love of flamenco, it is also present in the restaurant.
At Alfaro, dishes like melva with peppers, steak in oil, smoked salmon, Iberian cured pork, manchego cheese, anchovies in vinegar, its renowned salmorejo... and as for drinks, there is plenty of draught beer, vermouth or wine served by glass.
The establishment maintains the style of its early days, although its current owners gave it a facelift, extending the space and leaving the stone on which it was built bare in some corners. In summer, it has a terrace.
