Teatro Calderón will host an unforgettable gala on 21 October to mark the 5th Anniversary of the Tablao Flamenco La Carmela, bringing together leading figures from the flamenco scene, such as José Mercé and Juana Amaya, alongside the most outstanding up-and-coming talent.
Over the course of these 5 years, La Carmela has established itself in the heart of the city as a temple that is not to be missed for those searching for the most authentic flamenco, maintaining the essence and proximity of the traditional flamenco house.
To celebrate all these years of history, passion and magic, all of its power will be transferred to the stage at the Teatro Calderón for the first time ever in a unique show that pays tribute to real flamenco, without a script or any adornments, where the power of the heel, the strum of the guitar and the raw emotion of the song take centre stage.
Under the artistic management of Juan Andrés Maya, the production proposes a dialogue between guitar playing, dancing and singing through improvisation and the purest freedom. Renowned legends and the up-and-coming new generations will coincide on stage, forming an exceptional line-up, led by José Mercé, Juan Andrés Maya, Antonio Rey, Antonio Canales, El Farru, Juana Amaya, Gema Moneo, Iván Vargas, El Yiyo, Alba Heredia, Nazaret Reyes, Mara Rey and Montse Cortés.
This is undoubtedly not to be missed by flamenco fans who wish to come along to enjoy, move to the rhythm and celebrate these five years in what is set to be an unforgettable evening.
