Dancer, Patricia Donn will present her latest show, A Cuerda y Tacón, at the Gran Teatro Pavón on 7, 14, and 21 September and 5 October. It is a stage journey in which traditional flamenco comes face to face with contemporary elegance.
This new show takes the audience on a journey through the main flamenco styles, moving from ancestral depth to the freshness of the present day. From the Mediterranean charm of the zambra, an Andalusian gypsy dance style, to the Suite de ida y vuelta, a collection of flamenco styles, Patricia Donn provides a versatile and magnetic dance performance. Each movement highlights the elegant notes of the violin, accompanied by the guitar, vocals and percussion, in a prolongation of gesture and emotion.
The emotion reaches a climax with Zapateado by Sarasate, danced by a woman for the first time as a tribute to the great Antonio el Bailarín and with tap dancing on pointe of El Repique del Colibrí, innovation and Donn’s contribution to the language of flamenco dance.
Patricia Donn is a dancer and choreographer trained in flamenco, classical, contemporary and Spanish classical dance who took her first steps at the Paca García Flamenco School and in classical, contemporary and Spanish classical dance. Throughout her career, she has trained with maestros like Eva María Santiago, Susana Escoda and Antonio Canales, among others. She made her professional debut at the age of 16 at the Teatro Principal in Barcelona, and went on to dance in the flamenco houses in Barcelona. To date, she has won the 2nd Prize at the 2nd Flamenco Competition for young Amateur Talent in Barcelona 2011 and 1st Prize at the 5th Las Carboneras Flamenco House Competition 2018.
