Declan Welsh and The Decadent West

The Scottish band, Declan Welsh and The Decadent West, will be performing at El Sol on 25 October as part of its latest European tour in which it will present the songs from its third album, Explicit Agitation, due to be released in September 2026.

Having got together in Glasgow, Declan Welsh and The Decadent West has become one of the leading groups in contemporary British Indie rock thanks to a combination of sharp guitars, a post-punk attitude and lyrics marked by social and political criticism.

The band started to gain recognition with albums such as Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold (2019) and went on to consolidate its sound evolution through new art-rock and synth-pop influences. Songs like Absurd (2019) or Inaction (2024) have enabled the group to raise its profile, performing at festivals such as Glastonbury and consolidating a solid fan base on the European alternative scene.

In this new phase, the group will present its third album, Explicit Agitation, recorded alongside the producer Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios, which is due to be released in September 2026 and is one of the group’s most ambitious projects ever.
