From 24 April to 26 July, the Students’ Residence will host this exhibition on the evolution of the archive of the poet, Federico García Loca, since his death to the present day. The exhibition will review its beginnings and the socio-political contexts in which it has been produced, retracing the different stages through which it has evolved.
The Federico García Lorca Foundation’s Archive is the most complex and diverse archive of the many devoted to the poet in Spain. Although it has been meticulously catalogued, no one has yet studied its history, its rich present and the gaps left by war, exile and state interventions.
This exhibition seeks to close this void and show how this archive has evolved from its origins to the present day. Based on rigorous new research into personal, family and national archives, it looks at the past and towards new possibilities in the future.
The exhibition is divided into various sections: Coup, War and Rupture; Exile Routes; The Long Return; Opening Paths; and Towards the Future.
