The Museo ICO will host an exhibition by Jorge Yeregui from 4 June to 6 September as part of the Official Section of the PHotoESPAÑA 2026 photography festival, which addresses the region’s transformation through photography, video and installations, as part of research into contemporary social, urban and environmental dynamics.
The work of Jorge Yeregui (Santander, 1975) focuses on the transformation of the environment in its social, cultural, and political dimensions, through a visual essay as an analytical tool. His work looks into how places are intervened, protected or re-signified, connecting local contexts with global dynamics through a solid research base, fieldwork and critical reflection.
The Same Places exhibition brings together four projects that use photography, video and installations to address the impact of extractive industries, the real estate crisis, forms of urban growth and the relationship between human beings and nature.
Taken as a whole, his work extends the photographic language into an interdisciplinary field, in which image, space and research are combined to analyse how contemporary societies inhabit and transform places.
