The Ibercaja Foundation will present a show at the Teatro Real on 26 April, which will feature some of the finest romanzas from Zarzuela and the most representative styles and melodies from Aragonese Jota. This not-to-be-missed event will feature great voices in both genres, including Montserrat Martí Caballé, Beatriz Gimeno, Luis Santana, Beatriz Bernad and Nacho del Río.
The musical side of the concert will be performed by a quintet of great musicians specialised in plucked string instruments, such as Spanish mandolins, lutes and guitars, contributing to the brilliance of the show in addition to the piano, double bass and percussion with specific arrangements for each number.
The soprano Montserrat Martí Caballé, mezzo-soprano Beatriz Gimeno, and baritone Luis Santana will be on stage as unquestionable representatives of opera, along with Beatriz Bernad and Nacho del Río as the finest representatives of popular jota. They will be accompanied by the Amici Musicae Symphonic Choir of the Zaragoza Auditorium and the Esencia de Aragón dance group, whose choreography was created by the renowned dancer, Miguel Ángel Berna, who will also be performing one of his best creations as a soloist.
