The Belgian company, Peeping Tom (Moeder, S 62° 58’, W 60’ 39 or Kind), known for its hyper-realist and dramatic style will be performing a dance-theatre show on existence and immortality at the Centro Danza Matadero - CDM from 12 to 15 November.
It is a show in which the spectator is invited to become immersed in a dark and poetic universe, in which five figures are trapped in a temporal maze, confronted with different physical laws in an attempt to defy immortality.
Their show takes place via a series of chronicles or brief chapters, in which the bodies of the performers reveal new ways of being. The underlying question throughout the piece is whether the sulphuric landscape is a land for new creations or the remains of what once existed.
Founded by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier, Peeping Tom combines virtuous techniques, an extreme choreographic language and powerful dramatic performances, establishing it as one of the most innovative contemporary dance-theatre companies. For more than two decades, the group has presented its productions at theatres and festivals worldwide, winning various awards, such as the Olivier Award in the United Kingdom for 32 Rue Vandenbranden and the Fedora Van Cleef & Arpels Award, among others.
