The illustrated map of Vermouth Bars in Madrid, put together by the Academia Madrileña de Gastronomía, pinpoints some of the best places to experience the city’s beloved vermouth ritual. It charts a route through key spots in neighbourhoods such as Chamberí, Malasaña, Lavapiés, Chueca and Barrio de las Letras, offering a brief description of each establishment and its specialities.

The selection of 15 bars includes Bodega de la Ardosa, Casa Alberto, Casa Camacho (“Yayos”), El Anciano Rey de los Vinos, Bodegas Rosell, Bodegas Alfaro, Taberna Ángel Sierra, Bodegas El Maño, Casa Maravillas, Hermanos Vinagre and Sifón Bodega Colmado—ideal places to enjoy this quintessential Madrid experience.
