The acclaimed musical ensemble, Film Symphony Orchestra (FSO), will be coming to the Symphony Hall (Sala Sinfónica) at the National Music Auditorium on 19 December to present its latest show, Toon Story. This concert is presented as the great musical adventure of animated film and includes the soundtracks of films like The Lion King, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, How to Train Your Dragon and Aladdin, among others.
In this concert, Film Symphony Orchestra will pay tribute to the soundtracks that have marked generations in a visual and musical experience that will move all the family. A total of 70 artists will be on stage, including musicians and singers with a spectacular staging to perform this great adventure under the baton of the conductor and musical promoter, Constantino Martínez-Orts.
The concert’s repertoire includes the soundtracks from films like The Lion King, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, How to Train Your Dragon, Aladdin, Princess Mononoke, Toy Story, Kung Fu Panda, Pocahontas, Anastasia, Monsters, Inc., Chicken Run, The Incredibles, Ice Age, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Tom and Jerry
Founded in 2011 by the musical conductor, Constantino Martínez-Orts, this ensemble has more than 80 musicians and exclusively performs recitals of film music or music by composers closely linked to the seventh art. Its aim is to bring symphony music to a younger audience through the universal common thread of film.
Constantino Martínez-Orts is a composer and orchestra conductor born in Valencia in 1977, who has conducted ensembles like The BBC Concert Orchestra (United Kingdom), the Craiova Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra (Romania), “Oltenia” Philharmonic Orchestra of Craiova (Romania) or the Sofia Festival Orchestra (Bulgaria). He is a professor at Berklee College of Music on its Valencia Campus and he has released five albums devoted to film music.
