The Templete José Menese in Plaza Huarte de San Juan (Puerta del Ángel) will host a new flamenco season from 5 to 13 September, which will turn this venue into a meeting point for flamenco art in Madrid.
The programme brings together leading figures and shows that reveal the power of flamenco in all its forms. The audience will be able to enjoy an experience in which singing, guitar playing, dancing and percussion are combined in a vibrant dialogue between tradition and the avant-garde.
The flamenco singer Rocío Luna will open the series on Friday, 5 September, accompanied by Francis Gómez on the guitar. On Saturday, 6 September, Jesús Corbacho will perform a recital that reflects his extensive career in conjunction with David Caro. On Friday 12 September, Al Compás del Alma will be presented, featuring Fariña, Antonio “el Lolo Alfonsa”, Mario Bueno and Noelia “La Negri”. The series will close on Saturday, 13 September with Vientos del Eresma, in which flamenco and music of the world are brought together with Dani Hernando, Amador Losada, Sara Díaz, Lucía “La Flaca” and Sergio Rodríguez.
Flamenco, with its unique power to express the most intimate human feelings, is displayed to its full extent in this series, with fandangos, malagueñas, soleares, alegrías and bulerías. This is a not to be missed event for those who follow this art closely and for those who wish to discover it in an emblematic setting.
