Located in the heart of La Latina, this hall is one of the references on Madrid’s underground scene. Initially opened in 2015, it was forced to close in 2016 and reopened in 2020. Live music (indie, pop, alternative rock, shoegazing, garage, punk and electronic), DJ sessions, performing arts, radio on air and all types of counter-cultural demonstrations are held here.
As part of its commitment to promote music, entertainment, and culture in Madrid, El Sótano has a varied programme of concerts on weekends, as well as various DJ sessions Private and corporate events can also be held at El Sótano.
Artists of the likes of Niño De Elche, Morat, Chenoa, Los Vinagres, Ángel Stanich, Sexy Zebras, Amatria, Hola A Todo El Mundo, Camellos, Sophie Auster, Matt Elliot, Toundra, La Bien Querida, Pablo Und Destruktion, Tulsa, Mujeres, Rufus T. Firefly, Mäbu or Los Nastys have appeared on its stage and it has held events, such as the after-party of the MIN Awards, the 1st Edition of the Ruido Awards, the 2nd Edition of the Yago Awards or the presentation of the documentary, Arcade Fire: Reflektor Tapes along with the Mondo Sonoro magazine.
The establishment is fully adapted for access by people with reduced mobility.
