This legendary cocktail bar on the Gran Vía has been around for years and has managed to preserve the best of its history. It has kept its glamour and charm, without being at risk of becoming old fashioned, thanks to stimulating lighting which changes depending on the time of day, and a DJ who plays interesting music.
In all other aspects, Museo Chicote, Madrid's undisputed cocktail temple, still looks the same as it did back in 1931. Those sofas were once sat on by Ava Gardner or Grace Kelly and the 1950s chrome metal chairs once graced the likes of Bette Davis or Frank Sinatra. The list of illustrious film, theatre, music and literary figures who have called in here is almost never-ending. Such was the fame of Chicote's cocktails.
Nowadays, their fame continues, although Chicote himself is no longer with us. It still has that tongue-in-cheek attitude combined with a whole lot of glamour. Delicious cocktails and a whole lot more in a peaceful, modern and charming atmosphere, with a motley crowd that loves top music and good drinks.
