The rooftop of the Hotel Thompson Madrid in the central Plaza del Carmen has been home to this new restaurant since 16 December. It is part of the Lamucca Group, in which the charcoal grill and respect for the product feature in a menu created by Andy Booman and Lamucca's Head Chef, Dani Álvarez.
Makáá’s décor is the work of the interior designer, Patricia Bustos, who has chosen to use a variety of natural materials to give the space a warm feel, such as payesa stone, handmade ceramics, marble and wood, as well as several native plants selected by the landscape designer, Laura Berrocal Contreras, which will be able to withstand Madrid's climate and create a garden in the heart of the city.
The space also boasts VIP areas, an open bar with panoramic views over the centre of Madrid and a chill-out area next to the swimming pool.
As for its gastronomy, it has a menu featuring several charcoal-grilled dishes, as well as a cold bar serving nigiri and oysters.
