Café Manuela was founded in an old carpentry in 1979, in the style of turn-of-the-century cafés. In fact, it reproduced the atmosphere so well that it has been used as a set for over 60 films and adverts. El Manuela, as it's known, has witnessed how culture in Madrid has changed over the last few decades. During the 1980s, or in other words when the Movida movement was in full swing, the stage saw the likes of jazz players and other musicians performing rhythmic musical styles.
Pictorial works on the walls and poems and drawings between the tables are just some of the decorative elements that surround the customers of this cafe, who also have the possibility to play with some of their board games. They also organize various cultural activities such as bilingual gatherings, poetry workshops, performances, book presentations, art exhibitions...
In its menu we can find wines, tapas, cocktails, special coffees, milkshakes, cakes, natural juices and ice cream glasses.
