Halfway between Plaza Mayor and Plaza de Ópera, in the historic district known as Madrid de los Austrias, this iconic café opened in 1993 and was under the direction of eminent bartender Julio de la Torre from 2018 to 2024. It relaunched in October 2024 under a new concept, serving up great cocktails and creating a venue designed to appeal to art lovers and live music enthusiasts alike through a programme of unique events.
The venue, which retains the traditional marble tables and antique chairs that characterise the Madrid style, offers a range of different cultural activities. It also has a space for private events.
Café Madrid has an extensive cocktail menu that combines classic mixology with unique Spanish ingredients, accompanied by a selection of tapas.
