Ever since 1967, this little bar close to Plaza de Chamberí has been making churros and porras, made fresh at the spot and considered by many as the best in Madrid. They also make delicious tortillas de patatas.
Their specialties include the chamberosquis – straight, thick, crispy and not greasy churros – and the rechupetes – porras cut in half, sprinkled with sugar and herb liquor. The rechupetes, also known as ranitas, were the favorite breakfast of the Madrid hunters that gave them energy.
The bar’s decoration is simple and has a typical counter and a few tables where you can have breakfast or a snack. It accepts reservations.
