This cocktail bar is located in Malasaña, one of the neighbourhoods of Madrid with the liveliest nightlife, paying tribute to the classic mixes and recovering original recipes and techniques.
The name of this cocktail bar pays tribute to the year when the first ever book of cocktails was published, ‘The Bon Vivant’s Companion or How to Mix Drinks’, by Jerry Thomas, from which part of the 30 formulas on its list come from.
Some of its most famous cocktails are Mint Julep, a kind of Mojito prepared with bourbon, sugar and peppermint syrup, served in a metal glass, Gin Fizz, with gin, sugar syrup, lemon juice and egg, or Martínez, with sweet vermouth, gin, Maraschino liqueur and Angostura bitter.
