Getting to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport from the centre of Madrid by bus is easy. The express line operates 24 hours a day, which is especially convenient for passengers who have to get to or from the airport between 1.30 and 6am.

The Exprés Aeropuerto (Airport Express shuttle) completes the journey to T4 in approximately 40 minutes (it takes 30 mins to reach T1 and 35 mins to get to T2). It runs every 15 minutes during the day and 35 minutes at night, single tickets cost 5 euros and are purchased on the coach.

The buses, which pass through terminals, 1, 2 and 4, make three stops in the city: on the corner of O’Donnell and Doctor Esquerdo (metro O’Donnell), on Plaza de Cibeles (the square from which all night buses depart) and next to Atocha train station (only between 6am and 11.30pm).

Easily identifiable thanks to their bright yellow colour, the buses seat up to 88 passengers and have ample racks for luggage. You’re allowed to bring on suitcases, bags and wheeled bags (no more than 23kg per item) in the shapes and sizes approved by the Aviation Authority. Luggage must be safely stowed to prevent yourself and other passengers from getting injured. The Airport Express buses, which do not charge you any additional fees for carrying your luggage, are equipped with a special external support for carrying bicycles.
