On 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 September, the famous Yllana gestural theatre company will be performing The Royal Gag Orchestra at the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Príncipe Pío. A unique classical music concert with a live symphony orchestra, brimming with comedy and humour for the whole family to enjoy.
After the company’s successful forays into music with shows such as Pagagnini, Maestrissimo and The Opera Locos (Max Award for Best Musical 2019), Yllana has once again devised a musical comedy show for the whole family. On this occasion, the story takes place during the recital of a symphony orchestra.
The actors Juan Francisco Ramos, Thomas Poyron, Chus Herrera, and Juan Manuel Alonso will be performing alongside a live orchestra to introduce the famous conductor Josef Von Ramik, who is known for his bipolar condition and will be leading the Royal Orchestra.
However, the performance also features Gaspar Krause, a magnificent solo violinist, and an egomaniac to boot. The characters of Von Ramik and Krause clash, turning the stage into a battleground of sound, with crazy and unpredictable consequences.
Yllana is a comedy troupe founded in 1991 that specialises in gestural theatre. Their productions have become classics of Spanish silent humour and have been greeted with acclaim on all sides: Splash! , 666, Olimplaff and Action Man, to name but a few. During their career, they have performed in 44 countries and won a host of awards such as the 2012 Max Performing Arts Award for Best Music Show for Avenue Q, the 2010 Max Performing Arts Award for Best Children's Show for Zoo and the 2008 Fringe Festival Show Award (Edinburgh-UK) for Pagagnini.
