The American musician, Kyle Eastwood will be coming to the Teatro Fernán Gómez. Cultural Centre on 15 November as part of the programme of AZZMADRID, Madrid's International Jazz Festival. He will present his latest album, Eastwood by Eastwood.
Blessed with great musical taste, to which his father, the actor Clint Eastwood, contributed significantly, this double bass player entered the world of music thanks to his lessons from Bunny Brunel, with Paul Chambers and Ron Carter as his role models.
At the age of twenty-three, he got his own band together, the West Quintet, and seven years later, in 1998, he launched the recording project that brought him worldwide fame: From There to Here. This album, which features collaborations with Joni Mitchell, the trumpeter, Mark Isham and the drummer, Peter Erskine, was well received by specialised critics in the United States and Europe.
He now presents Eastwood by Eastwood, a project related to film, which showcases a synthesis of soundtracks written for films featuring his father, Clint Eastwood (Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby or Letter from Iwo Jima), with his own music with which Kyle Eastwood has already built his own career as a jazz musician and is well known for heading his quintet.
Eastwood by Eastwood is presented as a show that sums up this double side of Kyle Eastwood’s artistic life: the fusion between the jazz performance of the legendary soundtracks associated with his father, including compositions by Ennio Morrione, Lennie Niehaus, Lalo Schifrin or John Williams, and the original music composed by Kyle to be performed alongside his quintet.
