The Madrid side will play the first leg of the quarter finals, scheduled for 9 April, at home against the English side. Manchester City will be Real Madrid’s opponents in a Champions League play-off for the third season in a row.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side got through to the next round after beating RB Leipzig in the Round of 16 with an overall score of 2-1, having won the first leg away match and drawing in the return match at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The English side got through after beating FC København Copenhague (overall score of 6-2) and ended up top of Group C, ahead of Leipzig, Young Boys and Estrella Roja.
