In the 80s, La Bobia, was 'the' bar of La Movida in El Rastro, chosen by several directors for scenes in their films, including Almodovar for Laberinto de pasiones. It has now been converted into a modern neo-tavern serving Asturian cuisine, with products brought in from the north and prepared traditionally.
The menu offers typical Asturian dishes such as 'fabada' bean stew, cabrales blue cheese croquettes, and cachopo (cheese and ham sandwiched between two fillets of veal and then fried), as well as recipes that have been given a modern twist, such as apple gazpacho, Russian salad with prawns, and Cuban sandwich with baked gammon and smoked cheese.
