Back in 1979, an old coal cellar became the meeting point for the stars of Madrid's 1980s in scene, La Movida. Back then, this type of venues didn't exist in Madrid, and it soon became a place of pilgrimage for artists and intellectuals from the alternative scene. They even queued to get in. It was the 'temple of modernity.’ The years have passed, but time seems to have stood still for this venue. As soon as you set foot inside, everything looks the same as it did back then. Even the music: rock and roll, punk and classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s…
It spreads out over two floors (one is a non-smoking area); you can dance around, have a drink and chat without having to shout to your friends, a genuine luxury. It's always packed during the busiest hours of the night. This very lively spot is unquestionably one of the most legendary bars in the Malasaña area, buzzing with night life.
