This October the capital received a total of 873,253 tourists, a new high which exceeded the previous record of October 2011 (794,423 tourists).
Madrid receives the largest number of travellers and overnight stays in all of Spain. The month of October also set an all-time record for the number of overnight stays: 1,784,871, up 10.7% from the same month in the previous year.
The increase in overnight stays in Madrid was almost entirely thanks to international tourists, whose numbers have risen by 12.8%, accounting for 1,103,309 overnight stays.
