On 27 and 29 September, Madrid Convention Bureau gave a destination presentation in the cities of Bogotá (Colombia) and Mexico City (Mexico).
The events gathered a total of 80 agencies from both markets that, together with 12 Madrid-based companies and MCB, had the chance to find out more about the benefits of Madrid as a MICE tourism destination. They were pleasant and entertaining occasions, quite different to traditional destination presentations.
Each event was held in a Spanish restaurant – Paco Roncero’s V.O. in Bogotá and Sagardi in Mexico City – and consisted of a team game based on tests and questions that enabled the participants to discover details and information about Madrid not known by many, although the most important feature of the format was not so much the information, but the experience of actively participating in a relaxed and amusing encounter that, besides remaining in one’s mind for longer, creates links between the people attending.
The Madrid-based companies were represented by the hotels Wellington, NH Collection Eurobuilding, Ilunion Pío XII and Sercotel Gran Hotel Conde Duque; the DMCs In Out Travel, Spain in Style, Atlanta and Premium Incoming; plus Las Rozas Village, Real Madrid Football Club and Conference Studio, an event management company.
For the evnet in Bogotá, MCB count on the collaboration of the Spanish Tourism Office in Miami, the airline Iberia the agency Inoventos and the editorial group LAM, and for the event in Mexico, the Spanish Tourism Office in Mexico DF.
