Madrid celebrates World Tourism Day with guided tours through its neighbourhoods

World Tourism Day took place on 27 September. To foster the associated economic stimulus for the capital, Madrid City Council organised a number of special activities designed to showcase the city’s main tourist and cultural attractions as well as the services that it offers to visitors.

Services were stepped up in all of the capital’s tourist information points and centres, and users were informed about World Tourism Day.

In addition, free guided tours were organised around seven of Madrid’s neighbourhoods: Chamberí, Cortes, Retiro, Maravillas, Chueca, Embajadores and the Royal Palace.
