Congresses – March 2016

In the month of March MCB’s Congress Department provided logistical and institutional support to ten national and international congresses, including the 8th Congress of the Spanish Society of Osteoporotic Fractures (SEFRAOS), the 2016 edition of ROOTED CON, the 3rd Biennial Meeting of the Specialised Biochemistry Group, the 12th Carbohydrates Conference, the Annual Conference of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) and the Annual Meeting of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC).

Furthermore, during this period it held a welcome reception for the leading authorities and international presenters from the 6th International Conference of Physical Therapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health (ICPPMH). The reception took place in the Salón Real at La Casa de la Panadería.

The 2016 edition of the World Air Traffic Management Congress (WATM) was also held with great success, drawing over 7,000 international attendees to the city. This important congress confirmed its decision to continue to meet in Madrid until the year 2022. Among other considerations, its decision was motivated by the extensive logistical and institutional support received from Madrid Convention Bureau.

Similarly, for the second year in a row the True Coffee Experience, a competition devoted to showcasing and promoting specialty coffee among the general public, was a resounding success. The project was spearheaded by MCB and it is hoped that it will become a firm fixture in the city given the large degree of interest it has aroused.

MCB also collaborated on the gala dinner for the World Congress of Asthma, which brought over 800 national and international professionals to Madrid, committed to addressing issues related to respiratory diseases, problems associated with asthma and the prevention thereof. MCB also provided assistance for the technical visit of the International Congress of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID), an important medical congress confirmed for Madrid for May 2017 which will draw some 4,000 international delegates to the city.
