After passing through cities like London, Paris and Amsterdam, the “Healthy Lungs for Life” campaign arrives in Madrid on September 27th and 28th. This initiative of the European Lung Foundation (ELF) and the European Respiratory Society (ERS), together with the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery (SEPAR), aims to reduce the number of people who develop lung diseases, such as asthma or COPD, through the awareness and training of lung health, as well as prevention methods to avoid damaging.

Activities for Madrid’s citizens

During those days a tent will be installed on the esplanade of the Nuevos Ministerios metro station where attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy different free activities. Among them, a spirometry to know the health status of your lungs, ride bike-blenders, enjoy interactive games and consult experts in the field.

A space designed for the whole family and where you can learn about four important factors that affect the health of your lungs: tobacco, air quality, vaccines and physical activity.

As part of the campaign, the “Meet the experts” session targeted at patients and the general public will be held on Monday 30 September, by the hands of specialists who will be in Madrid participating in the International Congress of the ERS. These professionals will give talks focusing on the four themes, although the testimony of patients affected by respiratory diseases will also be available.
