The new, refurbished Meliá Madrid Serrano has reopened its doors in a prime central location in Madrid, with excellent transport links to anywhere in the city, and just a few minutes from the main museums, Santiago Bernabeu stadium and the conference centre.

Meliá Madrid Serrano reopens its doors focusing on the MICE client.

Meliá Madrid Serrano was built as Los Galgos Hotel in 1975 by the architect Antonio Lamela, whose other projects include the Torres de Colón high-rise office building, Santiago Bernabeu stadium and terminal 4 of the Madrid Barajas Adolfo Suarez airport. Lamela’s idea was for the hotel on the golden mile in the Salamanca district, linked to the premium shopping area in Madrid, to become a benchmark in its industry.

The Meliá Madrid Serrano Hotel is the ideal option for leisure and business trips because of its excellent location in the city centre, its complete, comfortable facilities and the quality of its services, which include The Level after this refurbishment.

With this new image, the Madrid hotel has become one of the must-visit destinations for travellers and locals alike as it invites them to embark on a culinary adventure in its new Arado restaurant.

The hotel’s magnificent facilities include the exclusive Arado restaurant, a multifunctional lobby with a covered terrace and many other areas. Meliá Madrid Serrano has added plants to its spaces to purify the air and make you feel that you are in a cool, fresh garden. The hotel also has a gym and meeting rooms that are fully equipped with the latest technologies and can hold up to 300 people.

The Meliá Madrid Serrano Hotel is at Calle de Claudio Coello, 139 in the Salamanca district of Madrid, one of the most exclusive places in the city with a premium shopping area, embassies, Michelin stars and art.

The rooms have been recently refurbished to provide our guests with a unique experience. They are more open and have open wardrobes and large shower trays, providing a more pleasant, functional space.

The room experience has been reinvented with unique touches, such as organic bed linen and towels, a fitness ball in the room for multiple personal uses and a minibar filled with local organic products.

An exclusive area created for the most exacting guests. A five-star hotel within Meliá Madrid Serrano offering an exclusive, personalised service with a private reception area and private terrace on the seventh floor affording views of the city of Madrid. It also provides exclusive access to the open lounge from 07:00 to 23:00 where guests can enjoy a private breakfast with show cooking and drinks and aperitifs throughout the rest of the day.

Arado, Restaurant & Gourmet Food Outlet, on the ground floor of the hotel. A restaurant with a modern food outlet selling gourmet products, a cocktail bar and a stunning indoor terrace. Its culinary concept is based on revamped traditional cuisine.

The idea behind ARADO is simple: turn the deeply-rooted traditions of our culture into new customs with first-rate cuisine combined with local ingredients in a sophisticated, modern and comfortable setting. Food and drink that show understanding of our traditions, culture and land. Culinary delights reminding us of past flavours that have been revamped with a more modern presentation. A culinary concept with a chic, modern food outlet as its unique selling point, since Spanish gourmet products can now travel around the world.

We want to give our customers something extra by helping them enjoy the premium tradition of a gourmet food outlet. They can buy the ingredients and take away a recipe to prepare a delicious Arado dish in their own homes.

Arado means lifestyle: meetings, chatting after a meal, cocktails, bar, lounge, events, entertainment, leisure, a culinary journey and, above all, an unforgettable experience.

The idea is to bring an innovative approach to the restaurant’s menu and the Madrid dining concept with the retro-food trend, represented by simple dishes with great ambitions. Popular food that everyone likes.  A twist to the ‘brutalist kitchen’, paying homage to gastro icons such as typically Spanish dishes eaten with a spoon that are famous worldwide. Everyday dishes that have been updated by the chef David Masllorens Pérez, who perfected his craft in restaurants such as Arzak, El Amparo, Santo Mauro Hotel, Dassa Bassa and Meliá Madrid Princesa.

His experience in these important kitchens has led him to create an alchemy of powerful flavours in the Josper grill oven, which give every dish texture, succulence and the unique flavour of fine wood.

The opening of Arado is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events in 2018. Identified with the Meliá brand for over 30 years, it is a privileged option for gourmands and travel & living lovers and it welcomes families and travellers from all over the world who value our approach.

ARADO is the heart of the hotel’s culinary experience, reminiscent of former Spanish food outlets. In the centre is a traditional bar serving a selection of the best well-known Spanish wines accompanied by the best recently cut Iberian ham and the best seasonal produce. ARADO is a new all-day-dining concept open from breakfast to dinner that uses techniques such as Josper grill ovens to improve the produce. The restaurant’s ambience flows seamlessly throughout the day, starting out more eclectically by attracting families and groups of friends and ending with a far more relaxed atmosphere in the evening.

All the products served are available for purchase in sustainable packaging.

Arado is a new culinary concept of revamped traditional cuisine for the most exacting tastes, a must visit in Madrid for a truly authentic experience. Cocktail bar with a menu created to give guests an opportunity to travel around our country and culture.

Meliá Madrid Serrano has seven meeting rooms that can hold up to 300 people. The multifunctional, open-plan rooms have been completely refurbished with glass walls providing natural light and the most innovative technology: digital lighting control with several scenarios, integrated audio and Venetian blinds for better visibility or privacy. This includes the two new concepts that will make any presentation or meeting successful: the Tech room with active sitting balls, multi-conference system, Microsoft surface hub, share link, a reinterpretation of the traditional boardroom, and the Flexy room with modular sofas to personalise the setup and foster creativity and interaction, a flipchart as an idea panel and interactive technology with the Nureva Span System.
