The acclaimed Canadian musician, Loreena McKennitt, will be giving a double performance on 8 and 9 July in the Botanical Garden at the Complutense University (Alfonso XIII Royal Botanical Garden), as part of the Nights at the Botanical festival. In this concert, the artist will celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the album, The Mask and The Mirror, one of the best albums of her career.
The Canadian singer, piano and harp player of Scottish and Irish descent is one of the best-known Celtic musicians in the world. Over the course of her career, she has sold more than fourteen million copies worldwide and has received gold, platinum and multi-platinum discs in fifteen countries on four continents.
In 2019, the artist returned to the stage with the launch of Lost Souls, her first album with original compositions since 2006. Considered to be the great renovator and promoter of Celtic music, she immersed herself in a sea of influences from different music styles worldwide, including Arabic and flamenco.
With strong folk influences, such as Joni Mitchell or Neil Young, the artist is once more taking part in the Nights at the Botanical festival to give a concert to celebrate the anniversary of the album, The Mask and The Mirror, released in 1994.
