The American alternative rock band made up of the brothers, Jared and Shannon Leto, is embarking on their Seasons World Tour 2024, to present their sixth studio album It's the End of the World But It's a Beautiful Day. The tour will be stopping off in Madrid, at the WiZink Center on 27 May, where new songs and their greatest hits can be heard.
Thirty Seconds to Mars was initially set up in 1998 by Jared Leto (vocals, guitar), Matt Wachter (bass, synthesizer) and Shannon Leto (drums), and over time has become one of the most important groups on today’s music scene.
The band's debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars, was released in 2002 and is described as a conceptual album inspired by bands like Pink Floyd and Tool. In 2005, they released their second album, A Beautiful Lie, which earned them recognition from the public and critics alike, thanks to songs like Attack, A Beautiful Lie, The Kill (Bury Me) or From Yesterday, their first single to reach number one on the Billboard charts and whose video clip was the first by an American rock band to be filmed entirely in the Forbidden City in the People's Republic of China.
It was followed by the albums: This Is War (2009), with hits like Kings & Queens and Closer to the Edge; Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013), in which the single Up in the Air stands out; and America (2018). In 2018, guitarist Tomo Milicevic announced his official departure from the band he had been a member of since 2002.
This band has a successful career under its belt, having accumulated 80 awards out of 145 nominations. The most notable awards include four MTV Europe Music Awards, as well as entering the Guinness Book of Records for the highest number of concerts in a single tour, more than 300 on their last tour.
Now the band made up of just Jared and Shannon Leto is embarking on a world tour to present their sixth album It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day released in September 2023. It's a new era for the brothers that is not just about exploring the darker sides of humanity but also about hope, and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is still a place for beauty.
