On 13 and 14 June, the Red Hall (Sala Roja) at Teatros del Canal will host the world première of the latest dance show by the flamenco dancer from Granada, Manuel Liñán, winner of the National Dance Prize 2017 and various Max Awards This show is presented as an archive of the loves that have altered the flamenco dancer’s body, moving his dance in new directions.
Manuel Liñán is a flamenco dancer and choreographer born in Granada in 1980, who has worked with the Carmen Cortés, Rafaela Carrasco, Merche Esmeralda and Manolete companies. At a very young age, he reached the final of the Seville Biennial in 1998 and won the choreographer and outstanding dancer award in the13tg edition of the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Contest.
In 2012, he and Daniel Doña created the GR Project group, which made its debut in the same year at the Seville Flamenco Biennial with the show <<REW. A year later he won the Stage Arts Max Award for the best dance performer and the “Flamenco Hoy” National Critics Prize for best flamenco dancer. His major works include the choreography he devised for Sorolla at the Spanish National Ballet, his show, Synergy, and the piece, Duende, along with La Moneta, for the Lorca and Granada series; and Reversible, in which he offered prestigious flamenco combined with modern dance. As an acclaimed artist, he won the National Dance Prize 2017, among other awards.
