Festival de Otoño 2009

An exquisite programme to arouse the audience's artistic curiosity. This is the purpose set of this performing arts festival that will be staging its 26^th edition this year, and will be presenting 35 shows, 29 of which are from 19 different countries. The performances will be staged in several venues, accommodating dance, theatre, circus and music, brought to us by some of the most important contemporary creators.

A flamenco show intertwined with poems by José Saramago and Miguel Hernández which since its premiere last year has already received the Premio de la Crítica and the Giraldillo de la XV Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla awards. The great choreographer and dancer turns to the lyrics of a flamenco song to describe how she felt while she was creating this piece. "The mirror you look into / will show you what you are like / but it will never tell you / what thoughts are you in mind". Pagés says that creating Self-Portrait, her most personal work, has taught her how to look at herself in the mirror. On at Matadero from December 4 to 27.
