Located in the old coal cellars of “La Carmela”, a legendary restaurant that stands on the site of the former convent of La Victoria, by Puerta del Sol, this new ‘tablao’ fuses gastronomy with first-class flamenco.
Directed by maestro Juan Andrés Maya and Raquel Martos Maroto, this new flamenco venue offers a cosy atmosphere with vaulted brick ceilings. Diners can enjoy the show as they sample any of its four different menus with an emphasis on traditional Spanish and Madrid influences, present in its food and drinks.
The shows are very close and personal, as the artists interact with the audience, so each show is different.
Artists such as Juan Andrés Maya, Antonio Canales, El Farru, Kiki Morente and Remedios Amaya, among others, have performed at the Tablao la Carmela.
