Todos los a\u00f1os, WFP proporciona asistencia alimentaria a 80 millones de personas en 80 pa\u00edses alrededor del mundo. Cuando las zonas afectadas no son accesibles por carretera, tren o r\u00edo, el aire es la \u00fanica opci\u00f3n. Por medio del Servicio A\u00e9reo Humanitario de las Naciones Unidas (UNHAS), la aviaci\u00f3n de WFP proporciona servicios de transporte a\u00e9reo a toda la comunidad humanitaria, permiti\u00e9ndoles llegar a lugares remotos a los que los vuelos comerciales y otros transportes son incapaces de acceder de forma segura.<\/p>\n<p>Una de las principales funciones del servicio a\u00e9reo de WFP consiste en fortalecer las capacidades de las autoridades de aviaci\u00f3n civil y otras instituciones nacionales en los lugares donde trabaja, fomentar las relaciones entre los operadores a\u00e9reos y, en general, mejorar la cooperaci\u00f3n en el sector de la aviaci\u00f3n humanitaria. En este contexto se organiza gratuitamente el VIII Congreso Mundial de Aviaci\u00f3n Humanitaria (GHAC por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) para proporcionar un foro entre los proveedores del servicio a\u00e9reo de WFP y otros miembros del sector. Desde su inicio en 2009, el GHAC se ha convertido en un evento de referencia para la industria de la aviaci\u00f3n humanitaria. El evento re\u00fane a selectos innovadores, dirigentes y altos cargos de la aviaci\u00f3n para discutir acerca de un amplio espectro de preocupaciones urgentes sobre seguridad a\u00e9rea y las tendencias emergentes del sector. Las anteriores ediciones del GHAC tuvieron lugar en los Emiratos \u00c1rabes Unidos, M\u00e9xico, Jordania, Marruecos y Suiza. Este evento mundial, que se celebra cada a\u00f1o, ha abierto el camino a nuevas iniciativas en materia de seguridad, asociaciones innovadoras y a una mayor eficacia en las operaciones a\u00e9reas humanitarias a trav\u00e9s de una mejor colaboraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objetivo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Las buenas relaciones laborales con los socios son esenciales para que las operaciones a\u00e9reas tengan \u00e9xito, especialmente para promover la seguridad en los servicios a\u00e9reos humanitarios. El GHAC es una plataforma que permite que un gran abanico de organizaciones relacionadas con las operaciones a\u00e9reas se re\u00fana y hable de aquello que les preocupa y de las posibles soluciones. Los temas que se tratar\u00e1n en el congreso de este a\u00f1o son:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Retos de las operaciones humanitarias.<\/li>\n<li>Operaciones con helic\u00f3pteros en entornos dif\u00edciles.<\/li>\n<li>Armonizaci\u00f3n de las estrategias de respuesta ante los desastres por parte de la aviaci\u00f3n humanitaria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resultados<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Se espera que este debate dentro del sector contribuya a fortalecer la colaboraci\u00f3n entre las autoridades de aviaci\u00f3n civil, el sector comercial y otros socios para cumplir los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participantes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El VIII Congreso Mundial de Aviaci\u00f3n Humanitaria &amp; Exhibici\u00f3n facilitar\u00e1 el debate entre los operadores a\u00e9reos, los agentes a\u00e9reos, autoridades de Aviaci\u00f3n Civil, los representantes de ONG, agencias de la ONU, empresas de combustible y empresas de asistencia en tierra, y muchos otros miembros del sector a\u00e9reo humanitario.
