ADOLFO SU\u00c1REZ MADRID BARAJAS COMMITTED TO THE ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport is registered in the Carbon Footprint Register and reaffirms its commitment to the environment.<\/p>\n

The registration, granted by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, encourages Spanish registered organisations to calculate and reduce their carbon footprint.<\/p>\n

In this way, the airport helps reduce CO2 emissions and to fight against climate change.<\/p>\n

Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport is the only airport in Spain that since 2012 has reached level 2 of the \u201cAirport Carbon Acreditation\u201d programme created by Airport Council International (ACI) Europe.<\/p>\n

IBERIA:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1-FIVE WEEKLY FLIGHTS TO URUGUAY (5 FEBRUARY)<\/p>\n

On 5 February, Iberia added a weekly flight to Uruguay, meaning there are now five flights a week to Montevideo.<\/p>\n

Starting in March, the Airbus A330-200 will cover the route that will enable 288 passengers to travel to Montevideo. The services include Wi-Fi on board for both business and tourist class.<\/p>\n

2-DIRECT FLIGHT TO PUERTO RICO (15 MAY-16 OCT)<\/p>\n

The route will enter into operation on 15 May with three direct flights: Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays.<\/p>\n

Iberia will fly to San Juan with its new Airbus A 330-200, which incorporates new business (19 seats) and tourist class cabins (269).<\/p>\n

Both classes provide Wi-Fi internet connection, GSM connectivity and sockets for charging personal devices.<\/p>\n

3-DAILY FLIGHT TO LA HABANA (2 JUNE)<\/p>\n

Starting on 2 June, there will be daily flights to Cuba, thus increasing the company\u2019s offer on this route by nearly 30%. The flights will be made with an Airbus A330\/220 (288 seats) and will link La Habana, via Madrid, to over 100 destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.<\/p>\n

4-DIRECT FLIGHTS TO JOHANNESBURG (1 AUGUST)<\/p>\n

From 1 August, 2016, Iberia will resume its flights from Madrid to Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

The airline will operate this new route with an A330-300, with capacity for 278 passengers (36 in business class and 242 in tourist class). There will be three flights every week \u2013 departing from Madrid on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and returning on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.<\/p>\n

5-ASIA (18 OCTOBER)<\/p>\n

On 18 October the flight to Tokyo will enter into operation, preceding another route to Shanghai. At present there are no direct flights that link Spain to Japan and China.<\/p>\n

The company will operate three direct flights every week between Madrid and Tokyo International Airport. Both routes will be operated with the company\u2019s new A330-200 planes with 288 seats: 19 in business class and 269 in tourist class.<\/p>\n

AIREUROPA<\/strong> WILL LINK MADRID AND ZURICH (20 JUNE)<\/p>\n

On 20 June, Air Europa will increase its network of European destinations with a new route that will connect Madrid and Zurich. There will be two flights a day, operated by an Embraer E195 plane.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
