As the warm weather finally reaches the city, flags and garlands go up all over Chueca neighbourhood and Madrileños prepare to celebrate Madrid Pride, an event that draws nearly two million visitors from across the globe. Enjoyed by people of all ages, genders, sexualities, races and faiths, it is living proof that Madrid is an open, cosmopolitan and diverse city.
After the huge success of WorldPride 2017, there is no doubt that the Spanish capital has become one of the best LGBT+ destinations in the world.
The main ceremony of these celebrations is, without a doubt, the State LGTBI Pride March, organized by COGAM, FELGTB and other associations. This march brings together numerous floats accompanied by two million people that go through the main streets of the city, from Atocha to Colón, promoting tolerance and equality towards the LGTBI community, but also bringing festive atmosphere with the floats and music.
