Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of classical ballet in parody form and en travesti. Les Ballets Trockadero first performed in the late-late shows in off-off Broadway lofts. Since those beginnings, the TROCKS, as they’re affectionately known, have established themselves as a major dance phenomenon throughout the world. On the occasion of their 40th anniversary, they’re running a special show, which is being presented in an international tour.
Specialising in classical Russian ballet, the TROCKS put on shows where dancing technique, humour and drama come together on stage.
Their shows draw audiences of all ages who like either ballet or comedy – or both, of course. Children enjoy themselves a lot; it’s the perfect way of being introduced to classical ballet.
