The Cuban National Ballet, with the acclaimed dancer Alicia Alonso at the helm, displays all of the poetry and legendary of Giselle, a traditional ballet performance inspired on a popular German fable.
Giselle is a beautiful young girl who lives in a hamlet in medieval Rhineland and has suffered from health problems all her life. Hilarión is in love with her and is consumed by jealousy when he thinks that Loys, who is actually Duke Albertch, might take her away.
After hiding his sword and keeping his nobility a secret, Loys declares his love for Giselle, who accepts it. However, on hearing the news, Hilarión swears to take revenge and reveals Loys’ true identity at the village festival.
