Forever Van Gogh

The Teatro Marquina is hosting an immersive theatre show that reflects the life of Vincent Van Gogh through his paintings, with performances from Wednesday to Sunday. In this production, art, music, theatre and new technologies come together to offer the audience a unique experience, with the soundtrack especially designed by the violinist Ara Malikian and choreographies by Chevi Muraday.

This project has been developed by the beon.  Entertainment production company and is an original idea by its CEO, Dario Regattieri. Forever Van Gogh is a theatre show that reflects the life and work of the renowned painter, through his paintings, offering a sensory journey through the madness of the genius.

The theatre will come to life, becoming a giant canvas thanks to the use of Artificial Intelligence, which enables the audience to form part of the artist’s most iconic paintings. It tells a real story of a life full of frustrations thanks to a legacy of more than 700 letters that were sent between Vincent and his brother Theo.

The show focuses on the last ten years of the artist’s life and, in parallel, tells the story of the recent approval and sale of his painting, A Kneeling Peasant Woman in Front of a Hut.    It is a production that moves the audience, who will be fascinated by the real story of a life full of dreams. The use of technology enables the artist’s paintings to be positioned as the main feature. 

This project, which invites the different moments of the artist’s life to be discovered through different creative phases, has a cast of 13 actors and uses audiovisual screenings produced with the most advanced technological resources. It is directed by the playwright, director, actor and musician Ignasi Vidal and the soundtrack has been especially designed by the Lebanese violinist of Armenian descent, Ara Malikian. Stage design is by Alessio Meloni and the choreography has been created by the renowned dancer and choreographer Chevi Muraday.
