Enseñanza Libre/Gatita Blanca is a double bill of humoristic zarzuela directed by Antonio Fauró in a performance of the famous works by Gerónimo Giménez and Amadeo Vives.
Enseñanza libre is a comic performance in which Don Saturnino, father of Pura, and Federico, the future husband of the young girl, intend to register the girl in a liberal school in order to prepare her for today’s society as she has been schooled at a French convent.
Gatita Blanca is set in Madrid in 1905, where Manolo celebrates his stag night. The leading character is going to marry his cousin, a rich woman who he does not love. The star of the hall is the singer, Luisa, also known as “la gatita blanca” (the white kitten), who agrees with Rosario, the father of the future wife, to give good courtesy and social behaviour classes to the young girl.
