Depeche Mode

Following its performance at Primavera Sound Madrid 2023, the British electronic music band is back in the city for a double bill of concerts on 12 and 14 March 2024 at the WiZink Center as part of its successful Memento Mori tour. 

The British group, Depeche Mode was formed in 1980 by Vince Clarke, Andrew Fletcher, Martin Gore and David Gahan.  After the release of its debut album Speak & Spell (1981), Clarke left the group and was replaced by Alan Wilder, who remained until 1995, after which Gahan, Gore and Fletcher continued as a trio until the latter's death in 2022. The group's current line-up consists of musicians David Gahan and Martin Gore as a duo.

They are considered to be the fathers of electronic rock and one of the best exponents of the genre, being the precursors of the use of the synthesizer as an instrument and the sampler as a musical resource. Having sold more than 100 million albums and performed to over 35 million people worldwide, Depeche Mode is still a highly regarded, ever-evolving and uniquely influential musical force.

In March 2023, the group released its fifteenth studio album, Memento Mori along with the launch of the tour and the first single, Ghosts Again. This album is now being presented as part of a successful world tour that has sold over two million tickets to date for concerts in North America and Europe.
