The Postal and Telegraph Museum came about through the union of the Telegraph Museum and the Postal Museum, created in the late 19th and early 20th century, respectively.
The exhibition rooms contain stamp collections of great historical value, such as the first stamps ever printed in Spain in 1850, and a collection of postal and telegraph workers’ uniforms. You can also take a tour through the history of mail, telephony and telegraphy. It periodically runs temporary exhibitions.
The museum also has an extensive library and documentation centre, specialising in postal and telegraph, with several original documents of great value and a very extensive map and photograph archive, with national and international maps from the second half of the 18th century through to the 20th century, based on postal, telegraphic, and general themes.
