The most classic among the classic places for tapas and cocktails. Placed in one of the most picturesque corners of the old Hapsberg Madrid, Taberna Rayuela is surrounded by arches and stairs and has enormous windows with views to the park of Las Vistillas. This restaurant with a name of novel (Julio Cortazar's masterpiece) is divided in two floors. The upper floor offers tapas and dishes in the most traditional style: ham croquettes, "A lo pobre" potatoes, scrambled eggs with chistorra, salmorejo, grilled fresh vegetables, chicken wings in mustard.
With regards to desserts, they don't leave any doubt: chocolate squares, carrot or cheesecake, Gourmand coffee and a great variety of icecreams give the final touch to any meal. The inner floor of Rayuela is dedicated to drinks, especially after dinner. They prepare daiquiris, mojitos, caipirinhas and the house specialty: the Royal Rayuela. Also, they hold birthdays, stag parties, and all kinds of meetings with friends. They complete the offering with a set menu from Tuesday to Thursday at midday and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, both with varied quality dishes.
