This restaurant, which is part of the Leon-based group Vamuca run by businessman Antonio Vázquez, is located in the space occupied by Casa Carolo. Nimú Barquillo is the perfect place to go for some tapas, lunch, dinner or to have a drink around the areas of Chueca, Alonso Martínez and Salesas. It serves imaginative modern Mediterranean cuisine based on seasonal ingredients.
The establishment's décor is modern, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. It features a large rectangular bar and several tables which are distributed throughout the room.
Dominican chef Héctor Arias created the menu, which gives a Caribbean flair to dishes like tuna tartare, butterfish with wakame, steak tartare and calamari sandwiches on pan de cristal (a light and crunchy bread). At the bar you can also enjoy cecina (cured beef), tuna and potato salad, marinated dogfish and the classic house-style nigiri with fried quail egg and truffle, with Burgos black pudding or garlic prawns.
