Welcome to Madrid
The Madrid International Jazz Festival, JAZZMADRID’20, is being held in October and November. In this new edition, the Festival will gather some of the brightest jazz stars, emerging talents and women who have established their authority as jazz composers and performers.
The festival will take place in different venues throughout Madrid, with the nerve centres at the Conde Duque Cultural Centre and the Fernán Gómez Theatre, which will host the main events along with diverse parallel activities. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy over 6 hours of uninterrupted jazz for five weeks, with musical proposals from night to the early hours at all of the clubs of the La Noche en Vivo Association with around 40 performances, and the French Institute.
In the past, JAZZMADRID welcomed great musicians, such as Hiromi Uehara, Gregory Porter, Robin McKelle, René Marie, Niño Josele, Giulia Valle Trio or Javier Colina, among others.
JAZZMADRID will include about 100 concerts, a special blues section, and jazz-related side activities: discussion panels, films and exhibitions with leading Spanish jazz critics and cultural experts. In sum, an invitation to listen to good jazz music in a variety of styles and from a variety of backgrounds, as performed by talents old and new.
